Ingredients & Allergens

Tree-nut allergen: SynoGut contains black walnut hull and is labelled “Contains Tree Nuts.” Do not use it with a tree-nut allergy without a doctor. Facility also processes milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanuts, fish and shellfish. Capsule is gelatin (not vegan).

Credit to SynoGut: unlike many blends, it names all 10 ingredients on the label. The catch is dose transparency — read on.

The proprietary-blend caveat: all 10 ingredients share one 1.5g proprietary blend per 2-capsule serving. Individual amounts are not disclosed, and 1.5g across 10 ingredients averages ~150mg each — a fraction of the doses used in most published studies (e.g. psyllium 5–15g). So it’s a gentle daily blend, not a clinical-strength therapeutic.

IngredientRolePlain-English notes
Psyllium (husk)Soluble fibreAbsorbs water to bulk and soften stool; the most evidence-backed ingredient here. Studied doses (5–15g) are far above a 1.5g blend.
Glucomannan (root)Viscous fibreExpands with water to support regularity; EU-recognised for normal bowel function at ~4g/day.
Prune (fruit)Natural softenerSorbitol and polyphenols traditionally support stool softening and motility.
Oat branBeta-glucan fibreSupports bulk and regularity; also studied for cholesterol at higher doses.
Flaxseed (seed)Mixed fibreSoluble + insoluble fibre for bulk and transit; provides omega-3 ALA.
Aloe vera (leaf)Soothing botanicalTraditionally used to soothe the gut lining; “leaf” forms warrant care for sensitive users.
L. acidophilusProbioticA well-known probiotic strain; CFU count isn’t disclosed on the label.
Apple pectin (fruit)Prebiotic fibreFeeds beneficial bacteria; pairs with the probiotic.
Bentonite clayBinding agentTraditionally used to bind substances in the gut; can also bind minerals/medications.
Black walnut (hull)Botanical — TREE NUTTraditional “cleansing” herb. This is the tree-nut allergen; avoid with a tree-nut allergy.

Medication timing: bentonite clay and psyllium can reduce absorption of medicines (and minerals). Take SynoGut at least 2 hours apart from any prescription or OTC drugs, and check with your doctor or pharmacist — especially if pregnant, nursing, under 18, or managing a health condition.

Other ingredients (from the label): gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide. The gelatin capsule means SynoGut is not vegetarian or vegan.
